Call for Papers for the 2020 Special Issue

The Contemporary Educational Research Quarterly is a rigorous academic journal published by the Center for Educational Research and Innovation of National Taiwan Normal University, and is accredited by Scopus and TSSCI. The 2020 Call for Papers is a special issue with the theme "The Transformation of Higher Education under COVID-19". We welcome contributions from experts and scholars in the field of education.

 

Special Issue Subject: The Transformation of Higher Education under COVID-19

In response to the global pandemic, higher education institutions have been faced with challenges in their chain of command, decision-making mechanisms, operational efficacy, and resource integration capabilities. Furthermore, many higher education institutions have launched online programs during the pandemic, utilizing online platforms and resources to address learning issues during quarantine. During the implementation of online education on a large scale, higher education institutions faced many challenges, such as inadequate network resources, online educational design and assessment methods failing to keep up with the times, or students' independent learning abilities needing to be cultivated. Moreover, the massive number of online courses has undoubtedly accelerated qualitative changes in the learning process, which warrants further investigation to ensure the quality of teaching and learning. In addition, the internationalization process of higher education has been affected by the global pandemic, which has led to new layout strategies. As the pandemic subsides, Contemporary Educational Research Quarterly invites scholars from various fields to reflect on how higher education institutions might draw on this experience, utilize data from campus research, and plan ways to respond and innovate in the post-pandemic period, as well as to participate in the reconstruction of society.
